Mr Lin is a Consultant Oculoplastic (eyelid plastic), Lacrimal (watery eye/tear duct) & Cataract Surgeon. He is Triple-accredited in the UK, Europe and Worldwide, passing all exams on first attempt and is also a member of the British Oculo-Plastic Surgery Society (BOPSS).
Mr Lin began his journey with his elective in the world-famous Moorfields Eye Hospital before going on to train in general Ophthalmology and advanced small-incision Cataract surgery techniques in the East of England. The UK has the longest and arguably the best Ophthalmology training in the World. East Anglia was consistently ranked first in the National Trainee Survey during Mr Lin’s training. During this time, he won several prizes/merits, was selected as Chief Resident at the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, and earned a PGCert from the University of Cambridge. He is passionate about always doing the best for his patients and has a Masters degree in Law with Merit in Medical Ethics and Law from the University of London.
Mr Lin further subspecialised in Oculoplastic and Lacrimal surgery in Cambridge and Southampton. He was appointed as Consultant in Colchester Eye Centre to lead these services, where he performs hundreds of eyelid and cataract operations each year. Mr Lin is a dedicated, passionate and meticulous surgeon utilising modern techniques to minimise scarring and maximise symmetry. He is experienced using electrosurgery which aids faster healing. He also runs the periocular Botox service at Colchester.
Mr Lin teaches Oculoplastic and Cataract surgery on the Faculty for Microsurgical Skills at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and trains the next generation of surgeons in his NHS theatres, including international candidates. Outside the NHS you will be guaranteed only Mr Lin performs your surgery. He is also the departmental medical schools lead for the University of East Anglia and Anglia Ruskin University.
Mr Lin has published in respected international journals on aspects of Oculoplastic and Lacrimal surgery, and on problems with filler. He has featured in:

In his free time, he enjoys the great outdoors with his family, stone carving and piano. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and is adept at using chopsticks with both hands.
